Applied Mathematics LaboratoryThe Applied Mathematics lab is comprised of PC's running the Linux operating system. The lab is dedicated to education in applied mathematics and is funded by SUNY Institute of Technology and the National Science Foundation. The use of this laboratory is expanding every semester as many of our existing courses exploit the laboratory's facilities. We now offer a sequence of new courses in Industrial and Applied Mathematics. These courses are project-based and depend heavily on computational techniques for solving mathematical problems. We are also currently developing a suite of mathematics laboratories that we call Gadgets. These emphasize interactive exploration of key mathematical concepts. Please stop by often for more information. SUNYIT offers a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and a Minor in Mathematics. If you would like more information regarding this program, feel free to contact us at (315) 792-7333 or email Bill Thistleton. The Applied Mathematics Laboratory also provides a mirror site for the Computational Science Education Project (CSEP) funded by the U.S. Department of Energy.
